Ubuntu Will be Present at Smartphone


New competitors appeared between Apple and Google. The Canonical presenting the Ubuntu operating system specifically for smartphones. Of course this is an optional extra for international mobile phone manufacturers. Reported the Wall Street Journal, the smartphone based on Ubuntu operating system (OS) is rumored to be available to consumers starting in October this year.

TheOS based on  Linux will resemble the Android OS, which provides flexibility for developers to create software / applications. In addition, this OS will be released to the entry-level class. Ubuntu also supports nativ code to facilitate the developers. In fact, the site also has supported HTML5 Ubuntu and applications nativ code, useful for developers to create applications for two types of users the desktop and PC.


The Canonical also targeted basic smartphone functions such as email, SMS and the Web are available in it. This smartphone is a new version of Ubuntu has several features that distinguish from Google's Android operating system. The difference that you'll find in terms of navigation which is provided on the 4 sides of your smartphone, the navigation will appeared from each side to touch the thumb. It also lets you search for content both locally and on the internet. Switching from one application to another is also faster

Canonical also offers several incentives to consumers smartphones based on ubuntu like cloud service, Ubuntu One, which allows you to put the files locally on the server online, making it more accessible from anywhere and anytime. Currently it is not available series of phones that ready to be marketed based on Ubuntu, but the Canonical are ready to work hard to collaboration to bring the first generation smartphone of Ubuntu.

Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth said that Ubuntu-based phone will first be launched in October 2013 in two areas that are not specifically mentioned which possibility of the American as one of the main markets.
