LG Optimus GJ, Waterproof Android Smartphone Officially Announced

Water and dust resistant smartphone appears to be increasing. After Sony launches Xperia Z and Samsung recognizes the existence of an Active Galaxy. Today, LG announced the Optimus GJ in Taiwan. Optimus GJ can be waterproof to a depth of one meter for 30 minutes and is also dustproof. Optimus GJ has similar specs to the Optimus G with a body that tends to be thicker than his brother.

Optimus GJ looks bigger than Optimus G. Optimus GJ has dimensions of 136.9 x 68.9 x 9.9 mm. While Optimus G has a size of 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.5 mm. Optimus GJ also comes with the IPX7 standard. By this standard, the smartphone can survive in water at a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. Additionally, GJ has IPX5 certified for protection from dust affairs.

In terms of specs, it has no difference with Optimus G. This product will be equipped with LCD screen measuring 4.7 inch 768 x 1280 pixel resolution, processor Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. Optimus GJ rear camera at 13 megapixels with 2,280 mAh battery powered. 

Optimus GJ will initially exclusively available in Taiwan starting next June at a price of around U.S. $ 602 with a choice of two colors, black and red.
