Seagate HDD 5mm Releasing Storage For Ultrabook


Seagate recently announced the latest hard disk with a thickness of 5mm which means shrinkage of up to 30% of the previous versions 7mm and 9mm. Seagate makes hard disk to support the design of computers that also gets thinner, and will be available in capacities of 500GB (for now) and 650GB (starting in 2016) with a sale price equivalent to the SSD. So that they can be used with Intel's Ultrabook specifications, computer makers can still use a small quantity of SSD (24GB for Ultrabook specification in 2013) to provide boot time, disk caching, and performance of a wake-up faster. Obviously SSDs have over regular hard disk performance, but Seagate HDD 5mm provide another option for users who prefer quantity over speed.

In order to expand the use, also designing Seagate HDD compatibility 5mm to 7mm and 9mm models. Connectivity, performance, and power is also virtually identical. This HDD can only be used in tablet or future data storage devices not only for laptops. ASUS and Lenovo are the two names that have plans to make a similar product.
