Amazon acquired the Goodreads


What had been feared some people apparently really happened. Goodreads is one of the popular sites that interests of a lot a book readers, through Goodreads they can get a recommendation from their closest friends about a book, in addition to be able to read comments and feedback from other users. In addition, users can also share their favorite books and mark books they want to read in the future. Goodreads growing up because its users happy with its independent position.

During this time,  Goodreads became the home of independent book lovers to share their reading experience, giving advice free from the interests of the sponsor, and not smell the business interest. And now, as reported by Otis Chandler, CEO of Goodreads, become  a member of the Amazon family. "Exciting news about Goodreads!" Otis wrote on his official blog. Amazon has announced that bought Goodreads, a site that focuses on providing recommendations to the those who like to read books. With this acquisition the Amazon is perceived to be able to steady the Amazon e-reader market by strengthening recommendation books for Kindle users and allows them to share and discuss what he had read.

To buy Goodreads, Amazon spend about 150-200 million dollars. Purchase agreement will be fully processed in the second quarter of 2013. Unknown at this time, there are over 16 million registered users on Goodreads and at intervals of 90 days as many as four books have been added at any time in the "Want to Read" users.

With the Goodreads Amazon's acquisition, would be more beneficial in terms of book sales through Amazon. Besides, it will provide more information related to the user through the site or to the user Amazon Kindle from the Amazon.
