RIM Founder Mike Lazaridis Leave BlackBerry


BlackBerry which used to have the name of Research in Motion (RIM) will lose one of the important figures very instrumental for the company. The figure is the former CEO and founder of RIM, Mike Lazaridis ie. Mike Lazaridis has announced his decision to leave the Canadian company that effective on 1 May. Earlier in 2012 and Lazaridis has resigned his position as CEO, but until May 1, 2013 he remained as Vice Chairman and Director.

"With the launch of BlackBerry 10, I believe that I have fulfilled my commitment to the entire board of directors ... I am sure that I have left the company into the hands of the right people."

Lazaridis founded RIM in 1984 and served as co-CEO with Jim Balsillie until last year. Balsillie has left BlackBerry first and also selling his entire BlackBerry stock. Now with the return of the BlackBerry smartphone to the world market via the BlackBerry OS 10, Lazaridis certainly could retire happily. Going forward, Lazaridis is still struggling with technology with a quantum of research that focuses on bringing technology to the movie Star Trek Tricorder become a reality.
